Jackson Hewitt is the worst.

Not Cosmetic related in the absolute slightest. Jackson Hewitt is the worst, at least the branch we went to. The preparers couldn't be more inept it took them, almost seven hours over the course of two days to do my husband and my taxes. The main preparer Sue kept saying she didn't understand Mass state taxes. We were doing them in Wyoming as we were temporarily there for my husband's job. She actually said at one point 'Massachusetts is shit'. Professional. She also claimed she didn't understand our Massachusetts insurance forms and that they were wrong despite being fresh from their original envelopes. Eventually on the second day, where five hours came in as the first two hours were near closing Friday night and we came in Saturday. Sue had yet more problems understanding the paperwork. She said my forms couldn't be right because she didn't understand stocks and it was a form of trades and stocks revenue. Yes, it was correct and I had to insist it was, so she asked if we could come back in twenty minutes when her manager was back and she could give the form the ok. So we go home with my 15 month old and 7 week old, my husband and I had been switching off sitting in the car with them as we have only the one vehicle and had somewhere to be, with just 'twenty minutes' okay fine. Another hour passed, we order dinner. Finally get the call, naturally there goes dinner based on how well it has been going. We get there and our preparer is now having computer errors that include her forgetting her log in and fun things like letting her four year old grand daughter run rampant around the stall to interrupt showing pictures she has drawn and tells stories. Our preparer keeps having to call in the manager to fix several problems, and she does while being on her cell phone the entire time while we get treated to her personal call full of 'I love you more' and further effluvia to her husband or boyfriend for at least twenty minutes. Another error, in Sue's haste she failed to load our rebate on our card she said 'Oops I hit just past the screen, where I can't fix it' I told her we were moving and wouldn't be here. Her quip about her gaffe. 'Guess you better leave a forwarding address then, huh' Well with that you can pretty much guess we were backed in to the corner of paying for the largest coverage package of protection because, I am no way comfortable with her level of service. I have never had my taxes take more than 45 minutes in my adult life, much less nearly 7 entire hours. I used the form on Jackson Hewitt's site to file a complaint, here is what I received back. Service [Incident: 170413-000126] Recently you requested personal assistance from our on-line support center. Below is a summary of your request and our response. If this issue is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may reopen it within the next 7 days. Thank you for allowing us to be of service to you. Subject Service Discussion Thread Response Via Email (Karla K) 04/14/2017 02:34 PM Hello Jessica, We apologize if your experience with Jackson Hewitt did not meet your expectations. The office must be given the opportunity to resolve the issue first. We have to recommend you work with the manager in this situation to resolve your issue. You can contact the local office at -- Thank you for contacting Jackson Hewitt Customer Service --------- What absolute and utter tripe. Now why would I want to talk to the manager, when the entirety of my interaction with her was with her not even bothering to get off of her cell phone and stopping her very personal conversation with her boyfriend/husband. Full of such treats as 'I love you mores' And stories about my preparer Sue's grand daughter running rampant through the office with a selfie stick earlier in the day. Marvelous, all while I am sitting there trying to keep my jaw firmly shut at the sheer professionalism at the pair. Especially giving her consideration as the manager. Now mind you I am not expecting much truly but try harder Jackson Hewitt this wasn't a small gaffe. This was seven hours of nonsense, over two days where a preparer couldn't hack it. Seriously. Something needs being done. Certainly am not asking the world but it isn't on that our time was wasted like that and we probably have to wait an age for our return to be forwarded because she couldn't even be assed to do it correctly. I put in a complaint with the BBB of Wyoming and it got kicked back to New Jersey because that is where Jackson Hewitt's corporate office is based. I wrongly assumed to file with Wyoming as it was a local business, and to complain of the particular branch not the company as a whole. It seems to me that it just doesn't matter that seven hours, a messed up on the preparer's end and two days worth of stress are just going to stand as fine by Jackson Hewitt. As a seven week post partum mum that's hard, a great kick in the pants. I will never use their services again and will never recommend. Am sure just mine and my husband's word wont do them a whit of bad being two people but, it's business lost nevertheless.

Nail's Inc, Magnetic Star Polish in The Strand, L'Oreal The Temptress' Touch

I love magnetic nail polish, ever since my beloved Lancome star polish, very rarely worn, but super loved. That formula very rarely worked but when it did, such a treat between the color and the star magnet. Perfection!

So many companies have been putting out magnetic polishes with a host of colors and and magnet types and have enjoyed a lot of them, was very excited to see Nails Inc have a star magnet. Mind you I just saw in RiteAid today, Revlon has out a line of all Star magnet polishes, but the colors were drab, so I put one back regrettably. I was on the fence but, I have several star magnets from cheap dollar store polishes up to Lancome's magnet and of course the Nail's Inc polish which I am going to get into. I will say the purple was quite tempting on Revlon's end and it was buy one ($9.99 get the next %50 off but for the heck of it I wasn't there to spend money for money's sake especially nearing the end of the month! But head's up should you be inclined)

There are three in the Nail's Inc Star Magnet line, I chose the blue called The Strand, as you can see because of the flake's to draw up the magnet it looks dramatically lighter in the bottle.

Of the Nail's Inc magnetic line, I think this is their strongest magnet. I don't know if that is on the strength of the polish or the quality of the magnet itself. It certainly looked like it heavier with filings in the bottle based on coloration. The fishnet worked a treat for me as well, am always surprised to see bad ratings for it. Was clear as a bell for me and gets compliments across the board. Also super keen on the navy color. I topped this off with Nail's Inc caviar top coat. My go to for speed these days. I bought both at Sephora.

Yes, caved again, here is yet another L'Oreal Project Runway shade, this is called The Temptress' Touch and I am looking unbelievably forwards to trying this on!

It is a bile electric green. From looking at it up close, it appears to have a slight shimmer, will be interested to see how that equates to the nail or if that is just how it is coating the bottle. I bought this at RiteAid.

The New Black Ombre in Waves

I really wasn't planning to keep doing swatches of ombre packs by The New Black, but it went with my dress, so I had to go with the flow and follow what the cute dress dictated. The finish on these did vary, but I use Nails Inc. Caviar top coat to speed things along. I had to run out the door quickly this morning. There was a glitter finish and the medium green on my middle finger ran more of a satin finish,to a jelly on my ring finger, the thumb and pinky your standard creme finish. But I thought it would be fair to mention without a top coat there are purposely different finishes to the set of polishes.
This set of The New Black ombre polishes is called Waves and runs from deep bluish teal to a glitter to a sweet pastel mint. As I was in a rush, I took the pictures as I was done and then had to dash, so clean up. Precious little, but you can see just how pretty a look this is. I just can't get over how nice these New Black polishes are. The shades are really well chosen.

I purchased this set at Beauty.com

The New Black Horizon Ombre Swatch, Screme Egg

Here is another one of The New Black's Ombre collection's this is the set of blues called Horizon.

The packaging.

I bought this particular set via Sephora.I believe this set along with the red, called Rover may be my favorite, with the pink bringing in a close third. Although I love all the ones I have purchased thus far.

Oh how cute is this, I went to the store today to pick up a few things, and I see, Halloween themed Creme Eggs, called Screme Eggs!

The traditionally yellow yolk is green tinted. Very adorable, I am a sucker for creme eggs, so to see them extended into Halloween and with green, no less. I squee'd!

Updates! The New Black Ombre, Unicorn Madness. L'Oreal.

Behind again. That's me. Just getting going and behind on my own schedule. At least the schedule I'd hope to keep with posting daily. Let's get my unicorn silliness out of the way then onto the polishes!

Shading isn't done, but four hours of sternum work, arf! Mind the shine from the ointment, next level creepy with shine. :) One more unicorn to catch up. Bear with me lol.

Pulled from my IG stream. This is my Peperino, from the Tokidoki Unicorno line of toys. So cute.

Polish time! I did end up buying another polish from the L'Oreal Project Runway line, this one is called The Queen's Ambition.

I am hoping this will keep me from being remotely tempted (doubt it!)from buying Illamasqua's new polish Creator as it is almost a third of the price. The Queen's Ambition, I tried it on, will swatch it properly, and do better in future swatches...is a basic black polish with fine silver glitter. Perfect for Halloween when you usually see this sort of thing, but with me a favorite all year round. This dries fairly quickly, but looks quite flat, the glitter has a nice sheen but if you want the polish to jump out at you, definitely a top coat or two would not be remiss. I bought this at RiteAid. Super cute.

Without going into too much detail, this summer I've undergone two surgeries, and spent my summer in bed, so picking a polish and staying with it was a big choice since I had to be immobile with my arms a lot of the time. So when I did change my polish I would wear one of these fantastic Ombre packs from The New Black.

Absolutely adore these. They look great as a pedicure as well. Here is a close up of the collection of pinks called Floyd.

I bought these via, Urban Outfitters, Beauty.com and Sephora.com.

L'Oreal Project Runway Polish in The Muse's Attitude

Here's the polish I had to walk back for, and thank goodness it wasn't shattered. Well worth the walk. It is absolutely gorgeous. This was one of the 8 new polishes in the four L'Oreal new Project Runway displays. It is called The Muse's Attitude. It is a blackened green and is so shiny. Might not be the newest shade ever seen, but it is shiny and has such a great depth to it. Looks very lit from within, dries quickly and has a peacock appeal to it.

I purchased this from RiteAid $5.95, worth absolutely every penny, might even grab another bottle to save. This is just gorgeous.

Been feeling Unicorny this week, self professed Unicorn week. Posted Monday's and Tuesday's pics on my Instagram feed. For the fun of it here they are...

Han Cholo necklace!

My Clonetrooper laying on my Lime Crime nail polishes.

I am Prancy and Fancy this week.

Shadows, duo chromes. & best case ever.

I'd meant to show a couple of duochrome shadows in my last post, but got carried away with something else. I love shadows with a nice shift to them, the more dramatic the better, especially greens and teal iridescence. So when I saw the Kat von D shade shifter shadows at Sephora I knew I had to give them a go. I bought the brown with green shift called On the Road, and the cornflower blue with baby blue shift called Stockholm.

I go on at length reviewing them at Sephora's site under the moniker piratefly. I love their performance, but what I truly wanted to get into was the shade, how close is it to Too Faced Label Whore (now known as Petals to the Metal), enough to recommend to someone to warrant buying it, should you have the Too Faced shadow or Urban Decay's Lounge.

This was a bear to swatch, for many reasons, not only the lighting but the placement, as you can see my hands and arms are a no go for swatching so it made things difficult at onset. But with these lighting conditions show just how slight the difference is, but what difference there was, I think is your preference for color. The Label Whore/Petals to the Metal had more of a teal/bluish cast to the green shift whereas the On the Road has a stand out green. Both bases are a rusty brick brown, when you apply the On the Road wet, as recommended on the package that red color really comes up in the base.

The packaging.

LW/PttM on left, OTR on right to show brick base and sheen.

A better view between a more teal to green caste between the nearly identical base shadow.

Darker lighting will show a better difference between the two, showing teal and a more burgundy versus brick whereas dead on they look samey.

Macro of the pair.

Basically if you've one, I don't think you necessarily need the other, they are both gorgeous and perform well, but both are better with a primer than not.

Disclosure as I haven't renovated yet, I bought the KvD shadows at Sephora and the Too Faced was a Gift from my sister. As a lol, because this look, was just all kinds of no. Here is me wearing the Stockholm, I feel like a 50s Barbie in all the wrong ways. But I matched my clear Imperial Shadow Trooper's helmet so that was a plus. Can clearly see the shift between the more cornflower base blue and the lighter blue.

Now onto the best case I have ever purchased for my iPhone. I bought this at Gypsy Warriorbut have since seen the maker's site where there are all kinds of gorgeous creations. Amazing, all sorts of spike color and case options. Bought the blue spiked Ice Ex-Girlfriend for winter. Hey that paypal balance is good for something via Matthew Millions.

This case is called the 'Merica Ex-Girlfriend, had a better picture on my Instagram (ie cropped)but you get the point. It's foxy as all get out!
